It is with great pride that we highlight Natalia Eclavea, the recipient of the 2023 Lodge Excellence Award at Mount View Lodge. Natalia has been a dedicated member of our housekeeping and laundry team since 2015, and her hard work and commitment to excellence have significantly impacted our facility.

A Challenging Yet Rewarding Role

Working in housekeeping and laundry is no easy task, and Natalia approaches every aspect of her role with dedication and resilience. From maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for our residents to responding to emergencies, including fire alarms and in-room floods, Natalia has faced many challenges over the years. With each obstacle, she has grown stronger, drawing fulfillment from her work and the difference it makes.

A Well-Deserved Recognition

Natalia was nominated for this award by her colleagues in the lodge, recognizing her as “hardworking” and commending her for always being “very happy and kind to the residents”. Receiving the 2023 Lodge Excellence Award is a tremendous honour for Natalia. “I feel incredibly honoured and humbled when my co-workers nominate me as an excellent employee,” she says. “I also see it as a reflection of the great teamwork we have at work, and I am motivated to continue working hard and supporting my colleagues to achieve even more together.”

For Natalia, the most rewarding aspect of her work at Mount View Lodge is the positive and collaborative environment that surrounds her. “I enjoy the smiling faces of seniors that show a positive vibe and give me hope and inspiration every day. They remind me of my parents back home in the Philippines,” she shares. Natalia also values the fairness and support she receives from leadership and colleagues, creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and heard. Above all, she finds purpose in knowing that her efforts directly contribute to improving the lives of our residents.

Originally from the Philippines, Natalia came to Canada eager to embrace new opportunities and grow both personally and professionally. Drawn to Mountain View Seniors’ Housing for its stellar reputation and commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment, Natalia has flourished in her role over the years, making a meaningful difference for our seniors each day.
