
Rent Assistance Benefit (RAB)
The Rent Assistance Benefit helps make housing more affordable for Albertans with low incomes. This long-term subsidy provides monthly support to help individuals and families manage their rent and stay securely housed. MVSH administers the program locally for residents of Mountain View County and Kneehill County.
What Is the Rent Assistance Benefit Program?
The Rent Assistance Benefit Program is a Government of Alberta initiative that helps make rental housing more affordable for individuals and families with low income. Mountain View Seniors’ Housing administers the long-term benefit on behalf of the province.

This program provides a monthly subsidy to help eligible households manage their rental costs. Applicants are prioritized based on need, which is determined by factors such as income, assets, number of dependents, and current housing conditions.
To qualify through MVSH, applicants must currently reside within Mountain View County or Kneehill County.

How to Apply for the Rent Assistance Benefit Program
To request an application form by mail, please contact our Admissions Department at 403-556-2957 (ext. 731 or 708).

All applications must be fully completed and include all required supporting documents in order to be processed. Incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant. Please allow up to 2 weeks for processing.
