Jocey Stein
With a background working in extended care in BC, Jocey was drawn to Aspen Ridge Lodge by a simple desire to help and a genuine love of working with seniors. For the past three years, she’s been a valued part of our volunteer team, lending a hand with Bingo and entertainment events that bring residents together for fun and connection.

What she enjoys most is spending time visiting with residents and being part of the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere at Aspen Ridge Lodge. While there’s no single moment that stands out, she says every visit is a good one, and that consistency of joy and connection is what makes volunteering so meaningful.

Outside of MVSH, she continues to give back in inspiring ways. At age 60, she returned to school to earn certification for her work, and she now spends her time making blankets for charities, including baby blankets for pregnancy and aftercare programs and the Women’s Shelter.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Atmosphere Enhancer - (Decorator)
Do you have a knack for decorating, an eye for detail, and a love of making spaces feel joyful? We need your creativity and energy to help transform our lodge’s common areas into warm, welcoming, and festive environments for our residents.
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours per month, flexible depending on the season​
By sharing your time, you are not just scooping out ice cream and handing out puzzles, you will be helping create a social event that our residents look forward to.
Time Commitment: 2 hours, two Saturdays per month from 1:30 - 3:30 pm​
Help residents enjoy one of their favorite activities—BINGO! As a Bingo Helper, you’ll provide one-on-one support to residents who may need a little extra assistance to fully participate.
Time Commitment: 2 hours per week, Wednesdays from 1:30 - 3:30 pm​
Weekends can feel long and quiet for our residents. The Weekend Visitor helps brighten these days by offering companionship, conversation, and light recreational activities to help pass the weekend.
Time Commitment: 2-3 hours per month, flexible depending on the season​
