Cheers to 400 Years!

In a heartwarming celebration of life and longevity, Mount View Lodge in Olds, Alberta, paid tribute to four extraordinary seniors who recently marked significant milestones in age. Among them were Louise, Ted, Kay, and Bill, whose collective ages total an astonishing 400 years.


The birthday bash, hosted by Mount View Lodge’s Activity Coordinator; Bill Deederly, was a spectacle of joy and jubilation! Residents, their families and staff came together to honour these cherished members of our senior community.

Town of Olds Mayor, Judy Dahl attended the event to personally congratulate each of the centenarians, presenting them with a gift and each a Certificate of Recognition for their remarkable achievements in longevity.


Louise Anderson, a resident of Mount View Lodge since 2015, celebrated her 98th birthday on March 16, 2024. Known for her unwavering positivity, kindness adventurous spirit, Louise’s presence brings so much joy to Mount View Lodge.


Thaddeas (Ted) Rokosh celebrated a remarkable milestone with his 99th birthday on March 7, 2024. A respected figure in the Olds community, Ted is renowned for his steadfast devotion to the Catholic faith. Despite his age, he exudes strength and independence everyday!


Kathleen (Kay) Cormack celebrated her remarkable 100th birthday on March 3, 2024. Having relocated to the lodge from Olds in 2022, Kay maintains a remarkable level of independence. Despite reaching her centennial milestone, she defies stereotypes by not requiring glasses and rarely using a walker! Kay’s warm smile and cheerful disposition endear her to everyone she meets.


William (Bill) Evans, a distinguished war veteran hailing from the Caroline area, has been a resident of Mount View Lodge since 2014. He celebrated an extraordinary milestone as he turned 103 on March 22, 2024. Despite his incredible age, Bill is remarkably lively and engaged, and continues to share his vibrant presence and a treasure trove of captivating stories from his illustrious past!


“These four people really show resilience and wisdom, and a great spirit of our community. These milestones remind us to cherish each day and celebrate the richness of life,” says a fellow resident at Mount View Lodge.



As we celebrate Louise, Ted, Kay, and Bill, we not only honour their remarkable years but also acknowledge the profound impact they have had on shaping the world we live in today. Happy Birthday, Louise, Ted, Kay and Bill!
